REI Custom Program Symptom FAQs

The REI Custom Program was created using broad symptom categories. Each category responds to a particular type of REI Auditory stimulus. We have organized these symptoms to provide the greatest possible gains within each symptom group.

The Gold and Platinum programs each draw from 10 symptom categories, whereas the Silver program draws from 5 symptom categories. The symptom categories are:

Silver Program - choose one symptom category

Anxiety - Includes anxiety related issues.
Attention/focus/hyperactivity - Includes attention-related issues including the classic symptoms of ADD.
Behavioral issues - Includes issues such as aggression, compliance, tantrums, and others.
Sensory Processing - Includes sensory defensive and sensory seeking behavior.
Sleep - Includes issues related to falling and staying asleep.

Gold Program - choose up to three symptom categories

Anxiety - Includes anxiety related issues.
Attention/focus/hyperactivity - Includes attention-related issues including the classic symptoms of ADD.
Behavioral issues - Includes issues such as aggression, compliance, tantrums, and others.
Cognitive issues - Includes symptoms related to cognition such as memory, reasoning, and others.
Language/communication - Includes issues related to language and communication including speech and writing.
Mood issues - Includes general mood issues as well as symptoms of depression and bipolar disorder.
Self-stimulatory behaviors - Includes behaviors such as rocking, flapping, toe-walking, vocal perseveration, and others.
Sensory Processing - Includes sensory defensive and sensory seeking behavior.
Sleep - Includes issues related to falling and staying asleep.
Social Interaction - Includes issues related to social interaction and engagement.

Platinum Program - choose up to five symptom categories

Choosing Symptoms

The REI Custom Program relies on choosing the symptom categories that most closely match the issues you want to to focus on. Choosing symptoms doesn't have to be complicated. Simply examine the areas where you or your loved one struggle and prioritize your goals. You don't need to choose all of the symptoms you face.

For example, many of our clients have an autism diagnosis and the main issues they face often include: social interaction, anxiety, sensory processing, and language or communication. An adult with AD/HD may experience attention, mood issues, sleep issues, and anxiety. A child with ADD, on the other hand, many only have attention as a primary area of concern.

Choosing a Program Level

Once you've identified the major symptom categories you want to focus on, you can then decide how many of these categories on which you want your REI Custom Program to focus. You needn't choose a program level that covers them all. In fact, most of our clients choose the Gold program with a 3-symptoms focus, even if they find that there are more general categories present.

Simply prioritize your goals. You can always focus on other areas once you've finished the basic program - we offer add-on REI Audio Tracks that you can choose once you finish the basic program which allow you to change the symptom categories you focus on.
